The problem is that they are in fact acting rationally in their own self interests rather than in the interests of the people they are supposed to be representing. This is nothing new, or limited to any political party or country.

I was talking about the voters. I understand very well that politicians always act in their own best interests. What is irrational is continuing to vote to re-elect these parasites, allowing them to constantly expand their own power and thus the scope of their graft, and not hanging a few of them every once in a while as a warning to the others.
Actually Mexicans did just did. fark And now back to the pier...
