Hi,
I'm a 63 year old retired teacher. I've recently completed my Open Water certification. A couple of weeks later I went with 4 other divers for a fun dive in Balmorhea. I'm looking forward to more dives. I have signed up for the Advance level but have not had time to begin it yet.

One problem I have is that I have a new wetsuit but it needs a little alteration to make it fit properly (sleeves and legs are too long-guess I'm a little short for my weight!). If anyone has any suggestions on the best way to get it altered (I've called a few places in El Paso but none are confident about being able to work on wetsuits). I guess I'll have to either mail it somewhere or take it to another town. I visit San Antonio regularly so if anyone knows a place there that can do it I would appreciate the info.

Thanks,
Harryiii

Welcome to the 'board and to diving!
Harryiii, recomend you drop down to your local dive forum and ask your fellow Texans...I'm sure you willl come up with multi-options to places that will do alterations on your wet-suit.
Dive safe and enjoy!

Hi Harryiii and Welcome to

Welcome to SB. On getting your wet suit cut good luck. I know you didn't know better but they do offer custom suits. One of the best and less expensive I've seen in Liquid Fit from the Keys ... check it out on the web.

Thanks to all who replied to my post. I guess my local dive shop was more interested in selling me a suit than advising me to get one that fit better. I was in a hurry. Wanted the suit for an upcoming dive and didn't have time to order one. Live and learn. I did have one friend tell me there were people who could alter them in Houston, but no one seems to know of anyone in El Paso. Too bad Texas is so big. (750 miles from El Paso to Houston)
