I know this is the Oly sub-forum, but you guys should keep in mind that the micro 4/3 line includes Panasonic and until at least very recently, I think their bodies have offered faster focusing than Olympus. From my perspective, the focus speed/shutter lag of the Oly OM-D, Panasonic G3 and GX1 are pretty competitive with most DSLRs (at least the low-mid priced models). It is at a point where for most of us, it is not an issue of significance.
Focus speed will continue to improve and there will undoubtedly be new and improved camera bodies from both Panasonic and Olympus on at least an annual basis if not more frequently.
