New Puck Air with Bad Compass

After diving for over a year with a Mares Puck, I decided to purchase a Puck Air. I bought a brand new Mares Puck Air with compass (unopened box) on eBay. The computer works fine, and I'm very happy with it. However, the compass doesn't work. No matter how level I make it or try to gently coax it into reading correctly, it just doesn't work.

The seller wanted me to send the whole thing back, and when I sent an email saying that I had used it once, I didn't receive any response. I'd like to just pop out the compass and exchange it for a working one.

What should I do?

We have a part # 44200179 for the compass. This can be ordered by an authorized Mares dealer. Please note, we are currently out of this compass but it will be in stock by end of next month. I hope this helps.
