New "Supermarket"?

Hmmmm...so it is basically across the street from Barracuda? Cant seem to place it...

It is on the corner where Neptuno is/was. At the moment it doesn't have any street frontage; it's going up behind the buildings along Melgar and that boulevard that runs east from there. I suspect that they will be tearing down the old Neptuno; Neptuno apparently has vacated the building on the corner and looks to have moved one space east judging from the signage.

The market is going in where the electric company (CFE) used to be. The property has gone unused for many years -- it was sold to CM in 2004. The land had a lot of trash on it before they recently cleared to build -- there was a small, white, cinder-block building with the letters CFE in blue (I'm pretty sure) fronting the street and a gated driveway. Ring any bells?

The only thing up a few weeks back was some metal support beams. I doubt anyone could give an estimated date for opening with any accuracy.

I pray a Walmart never shows it's ugly head in Cozumel! A nice grocery store will be great. How about with some fresh organic foods.
