Agree with mike, I run vindicators on all my valves. A quick visual for iso as well as sidemount tanks, is great.

A few lbs? what kind of tank boots? Two of mine coming off X7-100 weight 0.5lb total. There are many reason to take off tank book, saving weight probably isn't one.
