political correctness crap, politicans do not want to make anyone unhappy, except the citizens! Go to israel, they know security! If it looks like a duck, they are going to look at it, screw racial profiling.
John q public is not the problem in this country, it is radical muslims, and the politicans who do not want to offend them.
and just wait until some lunatic tries to strangle a flight attendant with a pair of pants.
The tsa in their typical reactionary brilliance with then have us all flying with no pants.
Dear god in heaven we're a stupid nation.

"In matters of national security emotion is no substitute for intelligence, nor rigidity for prudence. To act coolly, intelligently and prudently in perilous circumstances is the test of a man and also a nation." [Adlai Stevenson]. . .the answer is good assassins! We need to rebuild the cia to what it used to be! We need to take out mullahs with bad opinions of us! They could have bad accidents, heart attacks, or a number of other problems????!!!! We need a new elliott ness in town! we need to stop it over there, not here or in the sky! The best defense is a great offense!!!! Wake up!
I'm going to disagree. Profiling doesn't mean you ignore looking at other threats. At present, it's not blond-haired/blue-eyed Euros/Americans, 80 yr. old retired grannies in wheel chairs, or 8 mth. old babies in car seats trying to blow up our aircraft and kill infidels. To waste our resources by spending equal amounts of time on these just to be PC is ridiculous. Middle Eastern radicals are the current threat and should be the focus at this time. IMHOThere are Americans with names similar to that which would make them "OUR" people. Profiling has this nasty habit of locking you into one type of threat and ignoring all others. What happens when one of the many other terrorist organizations that hate American (and there are plenty) decide that we aren't paying them any attention so it is a good time for them to attack?
It appears that the new rules were active only through December 30, and are no longer in effect. I don't think anyone was buying that they were in any way effective at, well, anything, really (except making the TSA look foolish and annoying a lot of legitimate travellers).
- Passengers are no longer required to remain seated within one hour of landing at a US airport when leaving an airport outside the US.
- Passengers are now able to have blankets, pillows on their laps and they can access their carry-on luggage inflight in the last hour.
Unfortunately it is not that easy, this all is the latest reincarnation of a cultural war that has continued since before there was Christianity or Islam. Why we are so myopic that we don't recognize this is beyond me. They, they being the opposing culture (a stone age culture) want to kill us all (of the western, developed technological culture) and the latest fads in religion, Islam or Christian whatever, is just the excuse to continue the ancient conflict.
