OK... here is the deal, New Years, 2008-09 the week of December 28th. 08 through January 2nd. 09. We are putting together another wild excursion, going back to the sunny climes of the Bahamas aboard the GULFSTREAM EAGLE. Giving us 6 nights with 6 days of diving, doing up to 5-7 dives a day or more, as well as all of your air fills, (not air fare) tanks, weights and all of your meals, snacks, and beverages (beer and sodas are on you). The transportation is from Port to Port. All you need to bring is yourself, your dive gear (rental stuff does exist) a few items of clothing, a towel or two and we will dive your buns off, and don't forget your dancing shoes because we are gonna spend New Years Port Lucaya. All of this and much more can be yours for the astonishingly low price of $1590.00. That's right, ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED NINETY DOLLERS AMERICAN. (Add entry and exit taxÃÔ of $50.00) Nitrox is available at $150.00 per person if we have enough folks wanting it. As always, you will need to get yourself and your gear to West Palm Beach and home, this shouldn't be massive as it is early enough for you have time to get airline reservations, if you hurry, or, we are arranging for car pools and motels along the way to keep it kinda cheap. By the way, if this trip doesn't fit your schedule, don't despair; we have many other dates and lengths of trips available on lots of Boats or at any one of a bunch of really cool dive spots around the world. For the hard-core diver to the laid-back diver, we have the dive vacation for you, so what are you waiting for? ? A written invite? Well, here it is... Come on Dive with us!!! Questions?? Call Jon, at: The Pedaler and The Packer (740) 592-4630. Or (888) 9GO-DIVE.
Space is limited, going fast and its first pay first goes, so Hurry Up!!! Don't miss this one. And yes this is the same boat the Mythbusters used during shark week...
I promise it will be a Hoot!!!

This is a great trip. I have gone on this before. Lots of diving, great food and a crew that will do everything possible to make the trip perfect.

sorry if this is an ignorant question, but what kinds of depths and surface intervals are you doing to do 7 dives a day on air?
thanks?

where will most of the dives be?
what recommendations do you have for flights and times please?
sounds great

Not an ignorant batch of questions, Contrary to what some agencies would have you believe you can do more than 2 dives in a day, you just need to keep track of the depth and times of the dives done, your residual nitrogen times use the dive tables correctly and plan accordingly or pay attention to your dive computer which is pretty much doing the math for you by paying attention to your depths and times, crunching the data into and theoretical tissue loading of Nitrogen, than displaying all sorts of good to know kinds of info.... the depths we go to generally start deep in the am and get shallower as the day wears on. We will be keeping it in the "recreational" areas of 130 feet or less..... surface intervals will be 10 minutes to 12 plus hours depending on what we want to do next.... we will be using Air and Nitrox as it is available so mixtures will range from 20.9 % O's to 36%... all of the dives will be in the water.... and a less smart-alecky answer is that we will be doing a huge variety of dives, Wrecks, reefs, over sand, walls, drifts and anchor/moorings, shark encounters, dolphin encounters if we can find them lobster and fishing ect... pretty much limited to our iminagination and time and legality... now the sad part... we don't have enough warm bodies to do the eagle in the B-hamas as the economy sucks and not enough folks have signed on so we canceling the Eagle trip unless we suddenly have another 8 people pay $$$ yesterday to go.... but we are modifying the trip to head to the Keys (LARGO) for the same week, times and $$$ with Blue Iguana Charters on the Kate. No crossing of the Gulf Stream or customs stuff to deal with so no passport needed……
Check them out at: Blue Iguana Charters - Home
You would be pretty much on your own to get to Key Largo but to better answer some of your transportation questions I kinda need to know where you are in relation to where we are so where are ya??? Give me a shout at the Pedaler and The Packer 888-946-3483

Hobodiver,
Yes the Key Largo does include lodging. Just like the original trip it is a liveaboard. All you have to do is get to Key Largo and everything else is includes but alcoholic beverages and soda and nitrox. Oh yeah be ready to dive a lot, we are going to be at five to seven dive sites per day. You can dive them all or just pick and choose the ones you like.

Live Aboards are the best way to dive a bunch and relax, and the MV Kate and Crew is one of my favorite ones..... You put your regulator and BC together at the beginning of the week and leave it there all week long, no tearing stuff down and schlepping it to a hotel to rinse and dry than repacking it for the next day over and over again all week. You setup once and dive all week. Since you Live on the boat you are already at your motel so no traveling at the beginning or end of the day and no need to pick a place to eat, as you are already at one of the finest restaurants on the planet…. If you have any special diet needs it is not a problem just let us know… Knowing the Captain and Crew like I do I can promise that they will provide 1 meal a day…. All day… we will wake up in the morning to a Continental breakfast, do a dive, have a hot breakfast, do a dive, have a snack, do a dive, have lunch, do a dive, have a snack, do a dive, eat something else, do a dive, take a break, oh yea! time to eat again,,, Do a dive… Dinner, night dive, get outta the pond, get cleaned up and have desert, hit the rack and do it all over again in the morning. Or something like that, and there will be lots of time to kick back and relax also… After a dive, while you are inside the Galley getting fed and re-hydrating figuring out what we can do next (using dive tables or computers and we recommend having a dive computer)…. the crew will be filling your bottle so we can jump right back in and Do another Dive!!! Or, if you don’t want to do a dive than don’t get in the water, do as few or as many as you want to, just keep track of your RNT and Plan accordingly. No one is gonna hold a gun to your head and make you get in the water. Prior to each dive we will give a good briefing about the dive and you set your own limits. Although the Crew is kinda keeping an eye on your N2 Levels it is your ultimate responsibility to keep track of what you can do. I know it sounds like an all out “dive until your elbows hurt kinda trip” but it really isn’t. We will have several Instructors and Dive Supervisors and even an Instructor Trainer on this week so there will be lots of “helping” available to anyone who asks. From the novice diver to the seasoned pro, this is a great way to be in the ocean and the best bang for your buck….
Anything else we can tell you just ask,
