I remember hearing about a year ago that there was a new lake flooded in about a year or so ago somewhere out west of Fort Worth. I really don't remember anything more about it but I'm definitely curious as to if it's dive friendly or not. Being on out on the west side myself it would be great to find something closer than CSSP, Athens, Stillhouse, or Murray.

Thanks in advance.

I heard they were going to extend Palo Pinto Lake southward towards I-20, but that part is still dry.

Our dive team has trained their numerous times over the past two years, usually 10-15' vis, some trees. Typical thermal clines similar to CSSP. They opened to the public last summer and now allow fishing so we have not been back since but it was a decent dive and may still be. Take some tools to cut yourself free.

Is this Wheelers Branch Park? Do they allow diving?

Yes, they do. You will need a flag. :)
