Any good diver watches their gauges, Nitrox or not and are no more likely to get into trouble using either gas, IMO. Nemrod said that it allows for a greater safety margin "if dived on an air profile" not because it increases NDL. I'm not getting involved here, I use Nitrox to give me a longer NDL for photography purposes.

The only way to know if it's "safer" is to have statistics that show that over thousands of dives, and we don't.

DAN did the study with that sort of sample size. It couldn't find any statistically significant in difference between nitrox and air group DCS.

I've done a few hundred dives on both air and nitrox now and not noticed the slightest difference in fatigure between them. For me at least it has no effect.
