I am a Canadian citizen but am considered a non resident of Canada for tax purposes. According to the DAN website coverage is only available for residents.
What criteria does DAN use to determine if I am a resident or not. I still have a valid Canada driver license? Does that qualify?
DiveAssure will cover me, but their coverage is more expensive and the coverage not as good. What I like about DAN is the 24 hour hot line and available medical consultation for diving issues.
My regular health insurance does cover me for diving within my certification but I think that getting good assistance from them could be difficult. I'm willing to pay the $40 for the basic DAN coverage just to get that, it will also cover my deductible in case of a diving incident.
Is DiveAssure good on the medical assistance as DAN?
What other options are there for dive insurance that have the dedicated medical consultation available?
