Well first post might as well be here My fiance and I will be in Playa from Nov. 28th until Dec. 5th for our honeymoon. We actually just got done getting PADI Certified this past weekend in Dallas and can't wait to dive in Cozumel. I myself have been lurking the forums for some time doing research etc.. Hope the weather is nice and look forward to some nice diving.

We have looked into/been recommended to Dive with Martin and Dive Paradise there in Cozumel. Any others??

This question usually opens a can of worms. There are hundreds of dive operators on the island. Due to all the heavy competition, bad ones will quickly go out of business through word of mouth. You'll find everyone has their own favorites. Some people like small boats, some people like larger boats, some people like their equipment stored while others prefer to do things themselves.

Dive with Martin and Dive Paradise are both fine operators. Dive Paradise is known for being a bigger operation while Dive with Martin (I believe) has smaller boats. To be honest, I've never dove with Dive with Martin but they have a great reputation.

Blue XTSea is also known for being a favorite on this board, you may want to check them out. I usually dive with Aqua Safari. I've dove with them for many years and have always been happy although they're a bigger operation.

Overall any of the dive operators recommended on here are usually good. Everyone has their own opinion of who they like the best and it's tough to change that. Most people tend to be very loyal to their favorite dive operations.

Try to think of what you're looking for in a dive operator. For example, larger boats have more room, toilets and usually better protected against the elements rain/sun. Smaller boats tend to be less protected but may offer more personalized service due to smaller groups however you're less protected in bad weather. Some people may get seasick on smaller boats. Faster boats are better for people on tight schedule if you're coming from a cruise ship or want to get in afternoon activities.

Try to look for a dive operator that caters to your specific needs. Ultimately, regardless of the dive operator you pick in Cozumel you will have a fantastic time.

Flying down Friday, staying for a week at the Cozumel Resort, aka Hotel Cozumel, hope to be diviving with Scuba-Du, great people, and friends. Have used Dive Paradise, good also....
