Hot off the VHF airwaves overnight, a new dive boat has arrived in East End. Was not even registered yet according to their transmission to Port Security so I am assuming it is a spanking new boat.

As I understand Ocean Frontiers will be the new home of the vessel Gun Bay Diver, a 46ft Newton. This is the larger cousin to Tortuga Divers' vessel Leatherback which is a 42ft Newton. Newton makes a great dive boat. This should be a nice addition to East End.

Gun Bay Diver sports a comfortable 16ft beam which provides comfortable room to waddle around the dive deck. And Newtons have a open stern design for easy giant stride entries.

Glad that they arrived safe and sound. Evan told us he was going up to New Orleans to pick it up. From what I understand it is pretty much stripped down and they will be completing the build out at OF.

As long as it doesn't turn into a cattle boat... I'm good with it.

Newton 46, fabulous dive boat. Big, wide, dry, seaworthy, with a large bow area and upper deck. I've enjoyed diving from this sort of boat for years with Reef Divers on LC. An excellent choice for OF to have made. Why would it turn into a cattle boat? OF does not run that kind of operation in my experience.
