Although I'm sure it does happen having a computer fail straight out of the box is rare, I wouldn't worry too much about that.

True... Just reading all the reviews and whatnot and learning what problems others have had, makes me a tad paranoid! But for the most part even if there is a defect such as it saying you're diving while you're not or such, it will still be usable and I could send it in when I return home.


Still very torn between these two. I'm very indecisive to say the least!
 
Both are good computers but IMO Oceanic customer care is much better than Suunto, even if you're out of warranty, Oceanic goes above and beyond to take care of their customers. Also, the Dual Algorithm on Oceanic's in great because even if you're buddy has a different DC you have the flexibility to adjust the conservative factor.
