PS: Got link from Scubaboard, about the French woman killed by an Oceanic Whitetip, less than a week after my first post to our buddy In The Drink. Can only say:ABSURD!!!
The important thing is that we analyze the event,so we can avoid repetition. But who's to blame?
-Egyptian authorities says the woman's to blame, but knowing their M.O.too well, then I wonder if
it ain't some local dive entrepeneurs who've been"attracting the Big Fish",as we all know this still
occur in many countries(and can equal Big Bucks).Anybody seen this in Egypt in recent years...?

Just got back from trip. Amazing. Bit terrifying too at times. Longimanus is a beautiful creature but is also to be respected. They took a real liking to my buddy - I think because of the contrasting colours on his hood. And he has force fins. They really look like a fish tail. So the longi's loved getting up close and personal to him.

I'll post more tomorrow but am exhausted right now. I got quite a lot of tips on interacting with them so I will post these tomorrow or the next day as they could be useful to someone in the future, although the guides are very good and tell you all you need to know.

Cheers,
John

Oh, one other thing quickly. There was no feeding of ANY description while we were there. I'm sure it happens sometimes but there's no way our boat guide would have tolerated anything like that. I can't vouch for any other boats but as far as I could see there was nothing dodgy going on in terms of feeding the sharks. Of course it could be that they've stopped now that the spotlight is on but our boat certainly seemed very environmentally concerned in general. So that is good news.
