Worker dies on Petrobras platform in Campos basin off Brazil | Upstream Online
An offshore oil worker died on Thursday night on board a Petrobras floating production, storage and offloading vessel operating in the Marlim field in the Campos basin off Brazil.

Graziano Elvys da Silva, 41, was conducting diving activities when he fell ill and activities were immediately aborted, Petrobras said in a statement.

The diver, an employee of local offshore services provider Sistac Sistemas, returned to the P-33 FPSO for medical care.

“Even after emergency medical procedures, he unfortunately passed away ,” Petrobras added.

Petrobras and Sistac will set up a committee to investigate the causes of the incident. All regulatory agencies have been notified of the occurrence.

The incident happened in the same week that a Brazilian national died and five others were hospitalised after an intoxication incident on board the Boskalis semi-submersible heavy lift vessel Vanguard, which is transporting the P-70 FPSO to Petrobras from China to Brazil.
