I found several news articles that indicate an oil spill that originated in Trinidad has reached the east coast of Bonaire. The STINAPA Facebook page has lots of information concerning the cleanup efforts.

Oil slick and tar pollute parts of east coast Bonaire - BES Reporter

STINAPA Bonaire

We will be arriving in Bonaire next week for some diving. Anybody currently on the island who could give a report as to whether the oil spill is impacting diving or not?

Stories on Bonaire Talk indicate that the effect right now is on the east coast and not effecting diving which is primarily on the west.
