Working in a dock today I dug up this old bottle. Rowntree's Elect lemonade and Elect Cocoa. For a teetotal Quaker, chocolate drinks were promoted as an alternative to alcohol. Developed in 1887 and marketed as "More than a drink, a food" Rowntree's Elect Cocoa proved very popular.

I've since found some interesting info about The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in Waterford, they fled religious persecution in England and settled in Waterford in 1655. They were very good at business and set up among other thing Jacobs biscuits. These were originally ships biscuit. The Penrose family started Waterford Crystal. And in England chocolate makers Rowntree.
