I arrived in the Maldives this afternoon.

My hold bag was stopped and searched after something odd picked up on the scan.

My sea and sea and Olympus o ring grease. They confiscated it claiming it’s not allowed 🤷🏼‍♀️. I’ve been numerous times and never had this issue

The dive centre has grease but will it work or what can I use to save the holiday underwater photography?

I do have some for my sunto dive watch which wasn’t confiscated

If its for the main oring, thats a static oring and technically doesnt need lubrication. Just make sure its clean and you are good to go. Dynamic orings (buttons etc) should be lightly greased after diassembly/cleaning but you should be fine for the trip if they are in place already.

Confiscation items are so random. On a recent trip i lost a small pair of pliers on the outbound leg and some zip ties on the way back. Maybe the agents are planning to open a hardware store.
