The $800 seems too high to me. Maybe because it is private classes. Here in Dallas it is @ $275-300 for OW. I haven't taken any classes but we have traded with Duggan's Diving in North S.A. and I really liked them. They seemed to be a quality outfit and very professional and quite helpful. We needed a dive marker for some last minute lake diving and they were the only ones that had any in stock that day. Instead of steering me to the $150+ models they showed me a $25 marker that did the job and is a valuable piece of our gear.

I also appreciate that they have maps of local dive spots available for download on their website.

I recommend that you give them a call and talk to them about their operation and training.
