Hi,

I was reading about Osborne tire reef clean up and had read that the clean up of some of the tires might start today or maybe just the contract for this job was today. Does anybody have any info about this? Link I read this on is Osborne Tire Reef Thanks, James.

Thank you for asking about this important initiative.

The Osborne Reef Tire Project is an ongoing effort of Project Baseline Gulfstream. Right now the main focus is documenting the movement of these rogue tires towards the reef. This documentation only further conveys why these tires need to be removed. Currently, there have been no updates on a full clean up. It would be a massive undertaking. Previous attempts have removed some but still more effort is needed.

However you can help by supporting the project by sharing the findings via social media and other means. There are other projects on there as well that need the support of divers and the public. We encourage all divers to share your dive reports, measurements, findings, photos and videos with the community and us. Project Baseline is a non-for-profit initiative encouraging all to participate in the data collection and monitoring of sites. Please reach out to us and contact us to inquire further. You can follow updates via http://www.projectbaseline.org/gulfstream/latest-news/
