We enjoyed seeing ostracod in Utila. Are they seen in Roatan as well? I see mentions of them in Bonaire but not many other places.

I believe ostracods have been seen everywhere in the Caribbean that they have been looked for at the right time of the lunar cycle and the right sort of location (dark, gorgonians).

You betteer belief it.

Last August into September, had a spectacular show off of AKR. But we also had a spectacular J-fish show getting in and out of that dive. IIRC, it was post full moon by only a few days.

Last month, not so much. But we were off of peak lunar show cycle by around 10 -12 days. But no J-fish.

So look up "String of Pearls" and Roatan. If you do a night dive and the conditions are right (generally not much of a moon) they are amazing. We got back from Roatan in June and that was my third time seeing "string of pearls" but it never gets old.
