I should have posted this earlier, but we had a great diving day in Panama City with Capt Pat (PatMyGreen) on Saturday June 12. Pat wasn't our captain, but we really liked Dave too. We did the Red Sea and Bridge Span 12 The seas were less than 1ft, dolphins were playing around the boat and a turtle surfaced by the boat. Vis was okay (20-30ft?). I did see a dead red snapper on the Red Sea and a large dead amberjack on Bridge Span 12. Not sure what happened to them. Wondered if they could have come through oil but saw no signs of it. A spearfisherman said he shot at a snapper and thought he missed, but maybe not.
I saw some interesting stuff I've never seen in the gulf before: a frogfish and a cowfish. From my fish id book, I think it is an ocellated frogfish and scrawled cowfish.
Here's a link to my video clip of the cowfish. Didn't get a regular picture. http://www.scubaboard.com/gallery/data/4917/MVI_0795.AVI
