Wondering if anyone has been diving on the Papa Joe wreck off Big Pine Key? A diver from Dive Key West I was captaining for said he'd been diving on it (but awhile ago, and it was in poor shape even then). If I remember correctly, he said it's a wooden shrimp boat. Although marked on some fishing charts, none that I searched provide any coordinates. Any intell/help would be appreciated. Thanks! :cool2:

What kind of relationship do you have with Underseas? If you are on good terms, stop in and talk to George...or even Steel Rockett. I'm sure they have hit that site at least at some point. They get around if ya know what I mean. Hardcore commercial spearos.

Thanks! I'll give those leads a try, and post photos/info if I find it...

Got it on good authority that there's not much left of the "Papa Joe" wreck. Although it's prominently marked on some of the fishing/diving site charts for the Lower Keys, I've got it on good authority that what remains of the wreck is little more than a fuel tank and a couple of outriggers. Lousy weather has kept me from confirming these numbers, but if anyone's interested they're: N24 33 348 / W81 19 496
