Alrighty - where to start. Suunto RGBM?

So on a computer with Fused, it does just that. Fro shallow it leans towards normal Suunto RGBM, and when you go deeper it moves to Technical RGMB

In practice, the only time I’ve seen it be conservative, is when doing repetitive multi day dives with short (less than 60 mins) SI

Generally I have longer SI - 90mins

If diving an AL 80, and diving to 30m but also wanting a 60m dive, thus balancing depth/Air consumption/time, I’ve never had an issue

If I’m mooching on a scooter, Yo Yoing maybe down to 50m on air with a 32% back gas - its not an issue, sure you get a little deco but not much, and normally I come shallow anyway (15m) at the 30-40min mark to off gas. My computer might show no deco, but if I’m been diving aggresiveily, then I like to add my own conservatism.

Similarly I’ve had a fast ascent (big up current), my buddies Aladdin had a 24hr lock out, not my Eon

Also I’ve put my most aggressive setting against a Perdix most aggressive setting on two back to back dives - the Perdix had marginally less NDL.

All that said, my opinion is this. Get Deco trained. Even if you never go into Deco the added information makes you a more informed diver.

Next, whether you dive tables, RGBM or Buhlmen - always remember that the models only predict. You don’t know how near or far to the M line your body tissues actually are. And neither does the computer.

I’d rather take a couple of mins deco or add my own SS extensions than ride the NDL - but that’s just me.

Do I really give a FF between a computer that gives 22 vs 25 mins of NDL.... Not really

I did some analysis of SL 2016 and 2017 data.

In 2016 SL used the same dive profiles as previous years. Their 2017 is the same depth and dive time profile and I assume it's exactly same across all time/depth slices, so I've also combined the data. I took an average of their arrival and departure NDLs at their given depths and then averaged those results. The %'s are versus the NDL in the top row, as are the differences in minutes.

Dive 1 & 2 data (had to split it so it's legible):

Some observations I would make from this are:

The DSAT computers start on top and ~end on top after 4 dives.
ZHL-16C: dive 1 on the Perdix seems to be mid of the pack, then it climbs to be around the DSAT computers ,and interestingly ends on top for dive 4 (by ~8min) - almost to a point of being too aggressive (and it's only x/95 GF, but a lot of that NDL was generated/displayed at the 30ft part of the dive). On med cons (GF x/85) it shows it gets more relatively aggressive in dives 3&4.
PZ+: Sheerwood Sage is pretty close to Perdix but the AquaLungs seem to be in a boat of their own down the scale. [algo modification ??]
RGBM: dives 1 & 3 they seem mid-pack (diff of ~4-7mins, ~20%), dive 2 seems moderately affected (~15min / 32%) and dive 4 is significantly lower. I was expecting a different result based on @Storker's above data.
ScubaPro seem to be in a world of their own, mostly near the bottom.
Seac Jack seems to be where a 16B should be found.

In 2017 there was one data point missing from SP G2 on Dive #1. In 2016 there were three data points missing in dive 1; two for the Perdix and one for the SP Mantis 2. In both of the above cases I have guesstimated those points.
