Excel Spreadsheet for initial Gas Planning and Ratio Deco & Wet Notes is all you need. . . (but to some, that might be equivalent to using a Ouija Board:rofl3: )

...which is Jeff's point.

That ratio deco stuff is BLACK magic.

Magic eight ball. Just take it with you. Stop at 80% of maxATA and ask it "do I move up 10 feet?" (you can just think it). It will let you know. Sometimes it is less committal than other forms of planning, but decompression isn't an exact science anyway. Do this every minute until you reach the surface. You will be clear as a bell.

Chris

NOTE: Professional driver on closed course. do not try this at home.

Eight ball conversion chart:

Signs point to yes - start to slide up
Yes - ideal amount of time spent here
Most likely - you can do a little more here or move up. your choice
Without a doubt - you'll be overly on-gassing here shortly.
Yes - definitely. - move it along slow poke
As I see it, yes. - eight ball lost count but you should be fine
You may rely on it. - um, eight ball is narked
Outlook good. - you may feel a little twinge, but just suck some extra o2 on the boat
It is certain. - so far, we are on schedule.
It is decidedly so. - Your buddy already started his slide
Reply hazy, try again. - Um, you might want to hang another minute or two
Better not tell you now. - You shouldn't have left the last stop so soon
Ask again later. - Nope, you need to to stay for at least 5 more mins
Concentrate and ask again. - Eight ball thinks you should have used more helium
Cannot predict now. - Do you have a PFO?
My sources say no. - stay put speedy
Very doubtful. - You sure you didn't miss that last stop.
My reply is no. - just stay put for a bit and ask again in a minute
Outlook not so good. - You may not have enough gas for this profile
Don't count on it. - You might as well have brought a magazine for this stop

LMAO! That post needs a coke-alert...
It would be fun to bring one on a few dives just to see the correlation...what´s the depth-rating on 8-balls? Wouldn´t want one to fail on me...are you supposed to bring 2? Should you shake both to make sure that the one you´re using is calibrated?

So many questions...

your buddy's eight ball is your backup. team resources man. I think DSS has a bungee mount for it too :)

RE: OP - Same as Kevrumbo: spreadsheet for gas. ratio deco and wetnotes... although I print tables. Still figuring what works best...

I bring 2 balls on every dive. Otherwise it screws my trim all up. :rofl3:

Cheers :D
