image.jpgSo I had the pleasure of diving the Port Hardy area with the Vancouver Pescaderos club. We stayed at Gods pocket resort on hurst isle. My first time there. Got 18 dives in over 5 full days of diving including my 500th dive on day 2. Did most of the signature dives in the area including browning wall, north wall, 7 tree island, hussar point, the aquarium, and a few new ones I haven't done before like Ruth's rock, Barry islet, fantasy island, big wind point, and castle gap. Also did 3 night dives in the bay which were also from the boat. I have been to the hideaway 3 times previously and the dive sites are the same. The rooms(I had my own) were comfortable and warm, the food was outstanding, and the staff were great. Got a chance to practice a lot with my new canon g7x in fantasea housing with both wide angle and macro lens with some sucessimage.jpg

Actually it was unusually warm. 52-54 f. It's typically in the high 40's. All the diving there is done on or near the slack. There was a little current on some of the dives and one dive we purposely did a drift dive

what a wonderful trip. the staff at god's pocket are perfect. they are friendly and nice. they know when to help and most importantly, when to step aside. i came back to reality and civilization with a renewed soul. my mind and body are at peace.
