PRO-EAR mask removal difficulties

I am going to be going on my certification dives soon, and i was wondering what i should do. The dives are in a quarry which is very cold, and the divers are required to wear hoods. The specialy made pro-ear hoods make it near impossible to remove your mask underwater, which is a required task at the quarry. Should i rent a regular mask and hood for that specific dive? or talk to the dive instructor about it and see if he will let me skip that test?

You may want to consider a regular mask & hood for you open water dives, because you will NOT be allowed to "skip" the mask removal & replacement. It is a MANDATORY skill.
