I have friends that have been visiting PG for years, and one thing they they advised was never to take a night crossing to PG from Batangas, there's a lot of stuff floating around in these waters and all the boatman uses is some bloke up front with a torch who shouts back instructions if he spots any floating debris ….. like a tree for instance!

There is no way that I will ever cross that stretch of water after dark again.
The Coast Guards certainly won't approve this practice but some resorts will still do it though!!

I've done it in the dark completely oblivious to the dangers, never again.

Its bad enough during the day to be honest, last time the boat meant to take us back to Batangas had developed a technical issue (a hole in the bow) and we were close to missing our flight due to the delay.

BTW on the main subject I would vote for Anilao every time - love the place.
