-1 for the clip-on / strap-on thigh pockets.

When I was in the same situation a few years ago (wanted a pocket but didn't want to mess with glue), I decided to try the Dive Rite option. This is very similar to the OTG pocket you're looking at. My wife picked one up as well.

After a few months, we both decided that it wasn't worth the hassle. Having to clip / unclip to the waist strap in addition to constantly readjusting the thigh strap was annoying. On a positive note, Kate DID laugh a lot when I came out of my rig on the boat and stood up. . . without detaching the pocket from the harness (or my thigh).

It got to the point where we would leave them at home. Back to square one.

After finding a nice, illustrated 'how-to' guide for gluing, we cut off the straps & clips and aquasealed the pockets to our wetsuits. Three years later and they're still going strong.

Although it's rare, I occasionally do a few beach dives in the heat of summer with only a skin or similar. I may try out a pair of the shorts for these dives, if I can find some that are small enough to be snug without me wearing a 'suit.

I ended up gluing on a halcyon exploration pocket. Planning on doing a pool dive this weekend, hoping to try it out. I'm already happier with the glue on. Gluing it on was easier than i thought it would be.
