Anyone know what kind of tank I should be considering for tropical diving?

Also I just was curious as to travelling policy with regards to tanks

I use the tanks of the dive operators who I dive with. Most divers do not travel with their own tanks, as the valves have to be removed and this can allow moisture in causing corrosion.

I agree, tanks are just too big and heavy to mess with trying to haul around on a plane. The cost of rental is not much compaired to the rest of the trip and certainly not expensive enough to make it worth while for me to carry them.

AL 80 cuFt are popular tanks used in the tropics. It's better to rent these rather than attempt to travel with them.
