I have used 100% shampoo no problems. it defiantly last longer if you mix it. though most of the time I just use spit.

Things have changed a bit with Covid.
No more communal mask-rinse buckets most places.
Spit was NEVER nice in those, but people did it anyway.
Lots of colds/sinus infections got transmitted.
I'm happy to see them go.

I use it pretty much straight...maybe 10% water to thin it a bit.

When I use it straight or in heavy concentrations, the slightest bit of water in the mask makes it suds up - get a little water in the mask around your nose, accidentally breathe out your nose a bit, and voila, your mask is full of soap bubbles.

I use it super diluted, maybe 1:10 or 1:8, put a little in the mask, rub it around, tip out the excess, and then the mask goes on my face. I DON'T rinse it out with water after defogging. Never have any fogging issues.

I've used 1:7 for years with no problems (pour about an ounce of shampoo into a measuring cup and fill with water).

    Without diluting.

Two squirts, then I rub it all around and rinse it with sea water.

The key is to rinse it gently.

You need to leave the transparent film that the shampoo imparts.

The film is what creates a thermo barrier.
