I have 2 Apex DS4's and 4 XTX 50's regulators.
My problem is: When the Regulators are under pressure and I'm breathing from either second stage, I get a whistling noise primarily on the exhalation but sometimes the inhale as well. Doing a search here on the SB led to other instances of this happening with people explaining their experience of the sound in similar ways. The sound is harmonic in nature like something is vibrating like a kazoo. These are all brand new, never used except on a 20 minute gear check pool dive, and gear testing out of water.
Is this an adjustment issue, as two different sets (4 second stages) do the same thing.
HELP?
I think it is the Second Stage because of the noise on exhalation.
After five minutes breathing one of the xtx50's, the inhalation effort became very good, both smooth and positive and the noise stopped.
Exhalation remained labored and noisy.
Please help if you know anything. And as I'm in NYC, does anyone suggest a technician or shop that does Apex, I can also send them off if you know a place.

Thanks everyone,
Geoff
