Repair Innovative Scuba Concepts retractor?

I have a 40” Innovative retractor. The line won’t fully retract. Not very expensive, but not cheap either; not very old, but not brand-new. The case is fairly inscrutable. Perhaps someone has either cracked the code and fixed one, or tried but ended up tossing the thing?

Try soaking it in a solution of hot water and white vinegar for a few minutes at a time and then trying to free it up. If it works, rinse it really well, the vinegar is mildly acidic.
