Ok, I reversed the batteries in my Scout and taped the end of the spring strap, just below the hook that makes the connection at the module, and dropped in the SL4 LED module and it worked.

I used the module and the rubber boot from the SL4 on the Scout.

My buddy had his Scout with a Halcyon retrofit module and I compared the two. The Halcyon module used the same polarity as the standard Scout, positive connecting to center of module.
