I thought I saw a while back that you were working on a RGBM model that could be upgraded to. I know this entails an enormous amount of time, research, thought, and coding. I personally am all for it.

I currently cut tables from the NAUI RGBM dive tables. I dive with the computer and use the tables with the computer as a backup. The thing I miss is the ability to get deeper stops. On our last dive this past weekend, we did 20 min at 190 fsw. The RGBM tables were giving me an initial stop at 130 fsw. The deepest I could get the predator to do was 70 fsw.

Please let me know what you have in the works and why I'm seeing such a shallow first stop.

Thanks for a really awsome computer!!!

Cheers, Walt

I think they are working on VPM not RGBM. You can adjust the conservatism of the Predator by changing the GFLo and GFHi settings. I think the default setting is GF 35/80. If you want deeper stops change the 35 (GFLo) to a lower number. Changing GFHi from 80 to a lower number will result in extending your shallower stops. Before you do any changing, though, I strongly recommend that you read about and understand gradient factors:

Yes, I have read up on the gradient factors. Stock is 30/85. I adjusted down as low as 10/85 and still had the deepest stop at 70 ft.
I certainly am not knocking the algorithm on the predator, because it obviously has a very good track record. I am just interested in trying to get a deco profile more similar to what I have been using.

I heard that VPM-B software upgrade would be released late November or the first week in December. What is the expected current release date?

It's ready now. We are just getting the website set up to allow online purchase of the unlock code. As soon as the merchant processing is done, we will start shipping.
