Both those sites are commercial sites. I don't know the websites for them, but I'm sure you can find info on them from the internet. OW classes are often taught at these locations, so they are good for everyone.

Forty Fathom Grotto:

For those seeking cheap accomodations they do have a bunk house. FYI the Grotto is not spring fed, it is a sink hole.

Bird's Underwater for Manatee Diving:

Dove with them last Christmas and it was fantastic. Book ahead if you want a morning dive (the best time to see the Manatees).

Vortex Springs:

If you go to Vortex take time to drive a couple of miles to Morrison Springs which is a beautiful dive site and not so commercialized.

Good general information on Florida's Springs including directions and whether or not each site is open to open water or cave/cavern certified divers.

Mark you calendars for Dec 26-28 in north Florida scubaboard dive party!

I could probably make those dates as well... (like I need another trip to Florida this year!) We are leaving this weekend so my buddy can finish up his cave class. We are planning on staying all the way through next weekend if anyone is going to be around the Luraville or High Springs area, send me a PM before Friday nite.

CaveDiver.... Be nice to have you and company aboard. As we get closer, we'll work out the logistics and link-up details.

I'm trying to organize plans for 7 of us to get together to do some cave diving. We are shooting for the weekend of Dec 28th and planning on Vortex and/or Marianna. However, due to scheduling conflicts, we are also keeping two other weekends open for early next year.

If anyone else is still thinking about heading that way, let me know.

well it looks like im not going to be to make it to florida during the week after christmas as money and time arent working in my favor.

as for texas mike i havent heard from him recently and the last word i got is that he is really busy at work and hasnt had much time, and he hasnt been online in the past couple of months so i dont know what his availablity .

Have you used cave country in marianna for fills? If so any words of wisdom. Hoping to do a full day at JB probally 3-4 dives. Trying to avoid having to go back to Vortex for fills.
