Not exactly art, but perhaps an interesting depiction of a truly great dive site anyway. I found the complete USGS underwater survey of Lake Tahoe, used downloadable 3D modeling software to get the right angle of looking at Rubicon wall (a wall dive that goes down almost vertically to a depth of over 1,000 feet), and then created the same view on Google Earth. In Photoshop I made an image with two layers, one the USGS relief image, the other Google Earth. That way I could gradually make the Google Earth satellite photo transparent so that the underlying topography showed.

Take a look at a 4-step composite that shows the Lake Tahoe Rubicon Wall.
