Hi Readers:

Algorithms

While the theory behind decompression may be nebulous and incomplete, it must be remembered that not table is drawn solely from theory. All algorithms will start with laboratory data. It might be give a fancy “package” to explain how it works, but it is still laboratory data derived from nature.

What must always be kept in mind, and stated here often, are the use conditions and the test conditions. No tables are tested with excessive physical activity either during the dive or post dive. You would need to have very low gas supersaturations if you wish to haul heavy gear, and do surface swims. If that is not your form of diving, then less conservative meters will perform nicely. :crafty:

At the risk of looking presumtuous and stupid by contradicting a respected expert in the field, I had read that the DCIEM tables were developed using divers in cold water chambers on excercise bikes. Is this information wrong, or does it not fall into the definition of "excessive physical activity?"
