also have not experienced sand flies in the areas you mentioned or any other places in Phil. Mosquitos YES ! fully agree about the OFF
 
Thanks for your replies! We have ruled Palawan out, as it seems quite famous for the sandlies. We always carry repellant on our travels, but it only seems to work against mozzies, not sandflies. Will try to combine it with coconut oil..

And I might also test a couple of products I found when googling repellents:

www.goodbyesandfly.co.nz
I will report if they work against PI sandflies as well.

have fun! Coconut oil really dries out my sensitive soft skin, and if that happens to you citronella oil is great too.
