Hello! I am new to the forum...and a new diver! Very excited...and heading to Cozumel in a couple of weeks. Finished my certification a few weeks ago and considering purchasing a regulator. I will be in tropics half the time and Lake Michigan the other half. Someone suggested the Sherwood, but would love to hear some thoughts from the experts! Thank you!

Scuba Gal,
Congrats on your recent certification. I'll bet you had fun diving that first time. Welcome to the board. Lots of info here. Check out the forums on equipment. You might find some insight there.

There are lots of great regs out there. I might suggest finding a reg that is good for cold water as it will work well in warm water. Atomis, Sherwood, Aqua lung, they are all good. Try a Legend and see how it breaths for you. This seems to be a great all around reg and will be a decent price.

Look forward to hearing about your trip to Cozumel

Congrats !
Welcome Aboard !
And you're going to LOVE Cozumel !

Welcome to the board!

Here are some tips to make your time at Scubaboard a fantastic experience:

1. Fill out your profile. This lets us get to know you! Who knows, maybe there are others out there who share your love of underwater basket weaving!

2. Check out the forum on Scubaboard that is specific to your geographical location.

3. Don't hesitate to ask any dive-related questions you may have. There WILL be someone here who knows the answer. There also may be people who are sarcastic or attempt to make you feel silly for asking questions. Keep in mind that Scubaboard is like a salad bar. Take what you like and leave the rest!

4. When available, really get involved IN PERSON. Several of us regularly attend local functions where we dive and dine together. It really does enhance your Scubaboard experience!

Welcome!

Congratulations, welcome aboard !
Near Cozumel, try Isla Mujeres snorkeling, you´ll see more life than scubadiving. Also Riviera Maya has beautiful spots. You´ll love them all.
See you around.
Carlos

Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your trip--Cozumel is beautiful in many areas. I too am new to diving, and I live near Lake Michigan--the guys are around here are all excited about wreck diving. I just want to get some dive time in, but the weather is going to get really cold here soon. I purchased ScubaPro from HartCity Scuba in Elkhart, IN. It has the ability to be adjusted for cold water diving too. Although my experience is limited at this time, I do like it and it fits comfortably.
Have Fun,
Rhonda R.
