@lexvil @buddhasummer I am interested in the Mk17. Do you recommend this for a beginner? Mostly diving in and around California.

A divers level or experience is of no consequence. I've owned several, they are a solid, reliable first stage suitable for any diving conditions. Easy to self service too.
