Diving in the midwest, most divers quit diving when the water gets cold. . . each year we took a group of new explorer scouts for their first cold water dive. Two weeks before this dive someone would mention to the new divers to stock up on wetsuit warmer. . . It will sell out if they wait too long. Every dive shop in the area would receive visits or phone calls trying to find wetsuit water in the quart or gallon size. . . Every shop was always out, but may receive new stock soon.

When the cold water dive was near one of our state parks, It had a hot water shower. After the dive, I invited everyone to take a shower, then led the way. . . my shower was hot and steaming the whole room. The next diver took a hot shower, but kept complaining of the cold water ( still steaming ). When he left the shower he turned off the hot water. . . and ten new divers took a cold water shower after a cold water dive.
