I'm puzzled about something. People are posting that they can go if they can find a roommate. Maybe I'm dense, but.....if a double occupancy room is around $5,314 per person (for the least expensive room category at Beqa), what financial advantage would it be for a person to have a roommate?

Double occupancy means per person. Each room needs two paying people at that price.

So how much does a person who wants to room alone pay?

That would be $10,628 single occupancy. Probably a little less because you aren't paying for 2 divers.
