We are in also. Looks like we need to look for a flight now.
I got $320.81 per person out of Miami on Cayman Air with no stop in Grand Cayman. Best I could find. Leaves at 11 AM from Miami on January 14 and lands in Cayman Brac at 12:25 PM. Return leaves at 6:15 PM on January 21 and arrives in Miami at 7:40 PM.

My bride of 30+ years has never been to Grand Cayman so we are going to visit there for a few days prior to moving over to the Brac.

I think that is a wonderful idea, where will you be staying?

When my husband and I were younger we used to work long, sleep-deprived hours, before rushing to pack for vacation and head to the airport with little or no sleep. Then we would go through the stress of travel and as soon as we arrived at our destination we would rush out to get on the liveaboard or catch the afternoon dive.

Inevitably, one of both of us would get sick and congested and develop ear infections that would impact the value of our dive vacation.

We still work long hours and arrive sleep-deprived but now we take some extra time to relax and recuperate before we start diving.

And so we are usually healthy and happy during our dive vacations. And Grand Cayman is a great place to enjoy topside activities.

When we go to the Caymans we usually spend a week on GC and then a week diving on one of the sister islands. While we are on GC we relax and indulge ourselves. After a couple of days we usually do some shore dives to check our equipment and go snorkeling and maybe a couple of boat dives. By the time we get to Cayman Brac or Little Cayman we are healthy and ready to go diving!

You should rent a car on GC for at least one day; below are some links about topside activities on Grand Cayman, and some of them are free!
