I have a G2 and newer style transmitter with the color led at the tip. I have had it about 18 months and about 25 dives. So far the transmitter battery is fine. No warning messages no loss of connection. It’s works great. I found this thread useful as I have been wondering what I was going to do when the battery does need replacement.

I've had similar experience with very short transmitter battery life in my G2 transmitter. Maybe around a year or 15 dives a battery. This thread has been helpful.

I've noticed the screws on my transmitter have started to get chewed up. I've been trying to be careful about using a good/right-sized screwdriver, but screws are in there tight, and seem to be made of pretty soft metal. I don't see them lasting more than a couple more battery replacements without stripping out. Anyone have a similar problem?
I haven't but you might be able to get your local dive shop to replace them pre-emptively if you ask nicely and pay them to do your next battery and o-ring replacement on the transmitter. Alternatively, I bet you could find the right screws online. I don't think they're special, just typical screws that would be used to screw into plastic.
