Does anyone know the actual weight of the Scubapro Hydros bcd? I know the exact weight probably depends on the size so if your answer could include size for reference that would be great!

I wasn't able to find the weight listed anywhere except that it's described as "light weight" and good as a "travel bcd" on some sites. I find it hard to believe that it's a travel bcd like an Oceanic Biolite (~5.5lbs) or a Cressi Travelight (~5-6lbs).

Thanks!

I've been searching for the same information without much luck. Especially interested in the normal configuration and with the Trave-Tek straps, to see if it's worth considering as a travel BCD.

Looks like 9lbs.? - I agree, totally cumbersome to find out. Kind of like they are hiding it. Took me forever to find it. It came up in another thread recently. However, the 9lbs seems suspicious, since they appear to list it at 9lbs for all sizes, unless I am reading the chart wrong? Every other BC in the Scubapro line changes weight based on size: https://www.scubapro.com/en-US/USA/bc-comparison-table.aspx

Just threw mine on the scale. Size medium, 8.8lbs. That's with the integrated weight pockets. Guessing that the weight is hard to find listed because there are several configurations possible. By removing the weight pockets and installing the included harness straps instead, I'm guessing you'd lose about 4 pounds from that and be somewhere in the neighborhood of 5lbs. It's a great bcd.

That chart shows how much weight you can put in the integrated weight pockets and the trim pockets. :(

Finally found it; in the Full Catalog 2017.pdf https://www.scubapro.com/media/696396/scubapro_full_catalog_2017.pdf

HYDROS PRO WITH BPI:
Size XS/S/M Weight of BC (dry) 8.6 lbs 3.9 kg
Size L Weight of BC (dry) 8.8 lbs 4.0 kg
Size XL-2XL Weight of BC (dry) 9.0 lbs 4.1 kg

*Note: Weight of the BC in the travel configuration (no weight pockets) will be 2.2 lbs/1 kg less on all sizes.

So a medium without weight pockets (travel) would be 2.9 kg

I use mine with the travel/tek straps (and some tech-style fabric weight pockets (droppable weight) on the belt plus jumbo safety sausage bungeed to the tail "plate") as a travel BC. It easily fits in my carry-on with regs and mask. Two trips so far, no issues.

Thank you everyone for helping me find the weight of the bcd. I got a chance to try and compare the Hydros Pro with the Biolite. The Biolite is supposed to be ~5.5lbs but it felt featherlite compared with the Hydros Pro, even with the tech/travel straps. The Hydros Pro was outright heavy. Even the shop owner said it wasn't ideal for travelling if one was concerned about weight. Now I'm confused with the figures provided by Scuba Pro cause it certainly did not "feel" like it was 9lbs or less...
:idk:
