No, don't take it apart, although it's true the metal orifice is the better one, I was kinda playing. No harm intended.

Why did you buy anything? The recall replaces the parts, at no cost. Or at least my shop did it that way. I was not the original owner of them either......but kept the old saddles as I did not buy the newer saddle, save some money.
Again, TWO vents is SUPPOSED to indicate the yoke retainer/DIN has been updated. That is not always the case. Just as sometimes the yoke retainer/DIN have sometimes been updated, but the saddle with three vents has remained. The saddle is really a poor indicator of whether the proper components have been installed or not.Also, the 3 vents on the side of the 1st stage do not always mean the update has been done.
