...for a couple of reasons. On the Auto, the light intensity settings have been replaced with aperture settings. The strobe is not communicating with your camera so you have to change the strobe settings to match every time you change camera apertaure settings.

Another....the strobe is taking it's readings at the strobe, not the camera where the picture will be recorded. When your strobe is postioned away from your camera and at an angle, like it should be, the strobe readings are irrelevent.

I'm keeping my YS90DX...if it ain't broke, don't fix it! :wink:
