Ok, my September friends, are you ready to make the big PARTY?

There are two BIG BIG events occuring in September!!!

1. Mexican Independence Day.
2. Scubatree's other half's Birthday!!! Steve-o is taking another year on the counter!! (Oddly, I think Steve and Mexico are about the same age. Well its close anyway....)

So, to celebrate both these STUPENDOUS events. We are hosting the:

Independence and Birthday Blowout
or
The Grito is Neato 2013

or
Another Diver Over the Hill

at
Prima

Now for those of you that Don't know, lemme 'splain. At around 11 pm on the 15th of September all throughout Mexico, people will assemble to hear the Grito which is a commemoration of a declaration by a priest that marked the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence in 1810.

So, now my friends, Pelagicsal, ccannon707, etexdiver & jtexdiver, beechdiver, browntrout+3, macado v&j, njones259, I see you appear to be in Cozumel on the 15th. Now why is Prima the place to be?

Well, guess where the Grito is done? Across the street from Prima in the Municipal Plaza (the southern plaza). And any good Grito has fireworks right? Yep, in the municipal plaza. We made the 2010 observance, which was the 200th and it was awesome. The firework smoke blew through the restaurant, we were so close.


Now, apparently I was incapable of taking a decent photo, but here is an idea. This is looking from the balcony of Prima out on the municipal plaza where tons of people have come to listen.

Oh I forgot the important part:

We are making reservations, SO let us know if you are coming ASAP. It is a VERY popular place for the Grito, so we want to get enough seats saved for the SB crew!
